Final Sanctuary Update

God is so good! After 8 months of countless hours of prayer, meetings, construction, and cleaning, we were able to worship in our newly remodeled Sanctuary on Nov. 19th, 2017. The tornado on March 6th was a shock to our congregation, but we chose to take the opportunity God provided to us and make our worship space even better than it once was! You may notice in the pictures that the organ chamber looks very bare, but the Organ Committee has been very dedicated in selecting a new organ builder and a new organ will once again fill the chamber.

Here is a quick list of some of the projects were completed:

  • Handicap accessible ramp was added to the chancel
  • Updates to the audio/video system with a new booth on the main floor
  • Chancel expansion
  • New carpet replaced on the ground level, balconies, and hallways
  • Balcony floor refinishing and safety updates
  • Multiple lighting improvements
  • Alcoves updated with storage and coat racks
  • Pews deep cleaned, repaired, and new pew cushions
  • Plaster repairs and new paint throughout

The pictures do not do the space justice. If you have not visited, we invite you to come see for yourself! We will have our official Sanctuary Dedication on Sunday, January 7th, 2018 at 10 am. We hope you will come celebrate with us!

So glad to see all of these wonderful pictures and that things have gone along so smoothly. Can hardly wait to hear the selection by the organ comittee to see what company has been selected. Please keep me on your list for updates, etc. My grandparents were members here for years, as were my parents and siblings for a time. All are gone now. Mitchells, Springs. I am also a church organist and played the Casavant a couple of times when visiting. All the best for the future at this wonderful church.
