Celebration Band Leader

Job Objective: Seeking an individual who is gifted in leading contemporary congregational worship, possesses leadership and organizational skills, and is a team player.
Title: Celebration Band Leader Reports to: Senior Pastor & Music Director
Salary: Starting at $10,000

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
– Personal faith in Jesus Christ and ability to be a spiritual leader
– Capability of leading contemporary worship music on guitar and strong vocal ability
– Provide administrative leadership of the band
– Collaborate with the music director in planning weekly Sunday blended worship service, including song selection
– Model and lead heartfelt worship in an invitational style that draws people in, encourages participation, and points people to Jesus
– Recruit, audition, teach and train musicians
– Lead weekly rehearsals that serve two purposes: 1) preparation for Sunday and 2) cultivation of Christ-centered community
– Arrive at rehearsals prepared with arrangements determined and individually rehearsed
– Assist in planning/helping with special events, as needed
– Meet with staff/pastor as needed, and willingness and ability to work with all people
– Get to know people at Wesley, including attending town halls and congregational meals
Preferred Experience and Skills:
– Management of teams and relationship building
– Experience leading worship services and working with presentation software (Proclaim & Planning Center)

Anticipated Schedule: Approximately 7 hours per week
– Select songs, plan arrangements, communicate with the Celebration Band and the music director, and inform the church secretary of songs for the bulletin
– Lead Thursday evening rehearsal
– Lead 2-3 songs weekly during 10am blended service. Expected time commitment on Sundays from 8:15-11:15 a.m.
